Ham Radio Swap Meet this coming weekend

Picture
After a three-year hiatus due to Covid, the Emergency Amateur Radio Club (EARC) on Oahu is again holding its Ham Radio Swap Meet this coming weekend.  There is still time to clean out unused equipment from your ham shack and make it available to others, for a reasonable price. And a chance to find that adapter, cable, component or piece of equipment you’ve been looking for.  Just as important is the opportunity to
catch up with radio friends and to make new ones.

It will be held Saturday, March 25th, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the former Fleet Reserve Association; now the National Guard Association Center at 891 Valkenburgh St. Honolulu, HI 96818.

For vendor inquiries, or for those interested in purchasing table space
to sell/trade their items, or to simply share information, register by clicking the register button below.
Pre-registration for vendors is required.

Direct inquiries to Pono Higa (WH6CPH) at wh6cph@gmail.com or (808)
457-7243.

Maui Amateur Radio Club Monthly Meeting March 8th

3/7/2023

Aloha,

You are invited to join us tomorrow, Wednesday, March 8th at 7:00pm for our monthly amateur radio club meeting.  The meeting will primarily be on Zoom using the meeting link and login information given below in this email.

Prefer to have in person contacts with fellow radio amateurs or don't have everything necessary to join the Zoom meeting?  Then join us in person at the Maui EOC at the same time and we will get you connected with the group and participating in the meeting.

This month there are some newly licensed ham radio operators on Maui.  We hope they can join us, so we can introduce them to all of you and we can help with their operations and radio interests.  Tom Worthington, NH6Y, will be giving a presentation this month on HF radio propagation and how the sun affects propagation.  This is especially timely with the current solar cycle really starting to heat up!  There is also some exciting news about potential rule changes for the upcoming 2023 ARRL Field Day event.  The club may be able to operate at higher power levels than last year.  Alan, AD6E, will give an update on the current Field Day rules status.  We would also love to hear more from you about all your activities with radio.  We are always looking to discuss and learn more about emergency communications, contests, portable power, antennas, and all things related to amateur radio.

We hope you can join us!
