Maui Amateur Radio Club – May 14, 2014 Minutes – Maui EOC Wailuku, HI

President Tom Worthington called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM. 

The  treasurer’s  report and meeting minutes were approved, and accepted by acclamation.

12 members and guests attended.

Talk Around:

K6GSS-John: Playing with field day equipment. Amplifiers, made another satellite contact AO7.

NH6Y-Tom:   Built 10,15,and 20M Yagis. Testing antennas, good results. Has noise from West. Bandit amp working. Icom back from being repaired.

N0DQD-Bob :  Still dealing with antennas and covenants. WIFI boards installed and working.

KH6CJJ-Kent: CQ WPX CW contest coming up. Afternoon and Morning nets. Not much else.

KH6RSB-Shawn: Now on two meters with Tom’s help. Entered Rookie Roundup, High score from Hawaii.

KH6H-Mel: Alpha and Tentec are merging.

AH6CU-Joe: Civil Air Patrol radio work.

AH6AH-Anita: Races net on Monday night. CD Director invited to Field Day

KH6REO-Ed: Retired first of May, doing home projects.

KH7FX – Bob: 10M declining, worked Ohio on 10M. Bought 3KW Honda generator. 

KH6AH - Ron: Makani Pahili announcement, 17 and 20M in afternoons, K3 and hex beaming working. RemoteRig . Traveling with this configuration.

WH6EAV – Marvin – Willing to assist on Field Day take down.

This month’s presentation was done by Mel, KH6H, on Makani Pahili.

Largest exercise in the state. May 31- Saturday Use MCDA repeaters except 196.94 and 444.225. Interisland 147.020, HF 7088 LSB. Form ICS213 – FLDigi preferred.

June 3 – Degraded Exercise

Red Cross Shelter Exercise June 5 – Amateur Radio operators at shelters and Maui EOC
