Aloha Amateur Radio operators,
This is a request for more ham volunteers who would be willing to drive to the Westside and assist with comms at PODs (Places of Distribution). Vehicle access to the Westside on the Lahaina Bypass is now open to residents, workers, and the public. Bill Heyde, KH6UU, is the main point of contact if you wish to volunteer. Bill's email address is [email protected] and he is also cc'ed on this email. Please reply to him. Bill is the Amateur Radio Emergency Service DEC for Maui County. https://hawaiiares.groups.io/g/Maui/topics There is also an information page that is being regularly updated regarding ham radio information and the maui fires. Please see the link given below. Maui Fire Updates: Ham Radio Information With traditional communication channels are down and disrupted during this large-scale emergency in Maui. Ham Radio updates can be found here: Including ICS-205 for Maui https://bit.ly/HAM-UPDATE (must use caps for HAM-UPDATE) Stay safe and care for each other. Aloha, -Riley NH7O
